Looking forward to it—the 44th International Ceramics Days will take place August 6–8, 2027.
Save the Date! All ceramics enthusiasts can mark their calendars now for the next Ceramics Days. The event kicks off with the “Ceramic Artist Portrait” on Friday, August 6. Then, from August 7–8, 2027, the “ Keramikmarkt ” will once again take place on Schlossplatz.
The winners of the ceramics contest have been announced!
We’re delighted that so many of you participated in this year’s Ceramics Days contest. It was a bit more challenging due to the last-minute absence of a ceramic artist who was part of the puzzle. Nevertheless, many of you got your answers right—you’re true ceramics connoisseurs! The contest was sponsored by Öffentliche Versicherung, Tobias Sohl’s branch office, and the winner was drawn by insurance employee Malte Dreiher.
Three pieces of ceramics valued at €150, €100, and €50 were raffled off. The lucky winners were contacted by email on August 11 and can look forward to receiving beautiful ceramics by Andreas Hinder, Maria Pohlkemper, and Sabine Kratzer.

The program for the 2026 Ceramics Days is here!
You can download the program booklet as a PDF here. As usual, we’ll have printed copies available for you free of charge at the market. Inside, you’ll find all the information about the Ceramics Days: exhibitions, prizes, and special events, as well as a detailed list of all participating ceramic artists. Enjoy reading!
Pottery and ceramics in Germany - inclusion in the national register of intangible cultural heritage.
We are delighted that pottery and ceramics in Germany have been included in the nationwide UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List as a traditional craft technique since 2025. The inclusion is a success for ceramists in all areas and highlights the importance of handmade pottery, the diverse techniques and the many regional characteristics. The Werkschule Oldenburg and the International Ceramics Days would like to make a contribution to the preservation and promotion of this great cultural technique with their course program and the Keramikmarkt . Thank you to all those who have made a strong contribution to this visible sign in our society.
