The application period for the 2026 market has ended.

We would like to express our gratitude for 230 unique applications from 13 countries!

For us, the new year begins with selecting the approximately 100 stands for this year's International Ceramics Days. As every year, this challenging but also exciting task is carried out by a jury of experts. This year, the jury consists of Holger Denckmann (Head of Cultural Affairs for the City of Oldenburg), Dr. Christian Lechelt (Director of the Porcelain Museum at Fürstenberg Castle), Curt R. Lehmann (ceramicist and lecturer at the Werkschule), Christa Lingenau (ceramicist and lecturer at the Werkschule), and Dr. Anna Heinze (Director of the State Museum of Art & Culture in Oldenburg).
We will inform the applicants of the market jury's decision at the end of February.

Pottery and ceramics in Germany - inclusion in the national register of intangible cultural heritage.

We are delighted that pottery and ceramics in Germany have been included in the nationwide UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List as a traditional craft technique since 2025. The inclusion is a success for ceramists in all areas and highlights the importance of handmade pottery, the diverse techniques and the many regional characteristics. The Werkschule Oldenburg and the International Ceramics Days would like to make a contribution to the preservation and promotion of this great cultural technique with their course program and the Keramikmarkt . Thank you to all those who have made a strong contribution to this visible sign in our society.
