Smoked nature

The “Natura fumada” series is created using firing techniques based on primitive pit firing, in which smoke permeates the surface of the ceramic. The Spanish artist Xavier Bienvenido Mestre combines classic forms with geometric elements that break up the purity and symmetry of the potter’s wheel. He finds his inspiration on walks through forests, beech groves, and along the beaches of the Mediterranean.
