Spectacular abstraction

Marga Boogaard pushes clay to its limits and loves a challenge. For her abstract and geometric shapes, hundreds of rolls of clay are built up in such a way that they form a geometric interplay - a months-long process of manual work - a 3D printer is not used. Thanks to her unique technique, Boogaard's works appear light and airy, despite or perhaps because of the rough finish with porcelain slip, which emphasizes the shapes of her unique pieces. Spectacular shapes and mainly calm colors such as black, white or terracotta are her trademarks.
