Rose love

If you have a soft spot for floral designs, love rose patterns, and appreciate colorful—perhaps even slightly romantic—styles, you won’t want to miss Dörthe Ries’s “Rosenliebe” tableware line. Cheerful red and bold violet dominate the color palette of the rose decoration, applied with a loose hand. Traces of the creative process, such as turning grooves and deformations, are intentionally incorporated, uniting form and surface. The newer works are somewhat more abstract: freer forms and delicately watercolor-painted backgrounds combine here with sketch-like drawings and shapes to form a harmonious whole.
