Urban Landscapes

Typically Dutch—the distinctive canal houses and historic facades are the specialty of Dutch artist Alexandra Breeze. Using a mixture of clay, porcelain, and paper fibers, she creates her urban landscapes, which evoke the tradition of Delftware. Detailed surfaces—printed, embossed, painted, and modeled—give the reliefs a surprising depth. In this way, architectural structures are transformed into living spaces, imbued with memories and stories.
