"Basically, all you have to do is let the bustling life of nature have an effect on you and you'll be inspired," says Lisa Biris. Her objects reflect mushrooms, seed pods, corals, even feathers, scales, wood and much more. An essential principle in her work, apart from the play with contrasts, is the creation of the illusion of supposed movement through the texture of her natural objects. This is designed to deceive the eye, giving a rock-hard surface the appearance of a billowy, soft natural find.
